Everyone, I sincerely pray that you guys have a truly happy, safe, and blessed New Year's. Please, please, please be safe out there as you travel to and fro in the midst of your festivities. Please be careful about your various associations with people and about how you deal with different situations that might arise tonite.
Moreover, let's be thankful and grateful for how God has brought us through 2014. I pray 2015 is a fantastic year. Don't let anything negative that happened in 2014 hold you back from experiencing what God wants to do in you and through you. He wants to bring about positive change in your life and in the lives of those with whom He'd have you to interact. Don't get stuck, but get moving! We all have much work to do if we are to take our lives to the next levels.
Make 2015 epic! Stay encouraged! Much love guys!
I'm so excited about turning 29 on the 29th! I'll be celebrating at Raleighwood in Raleigh. The details are on the flyers below. Feel free to join me!
Jesus came to live the life we could not live, to die the kind of death we should have died, to pay the debt we could not pay so we could have true life in and through Him.
God turned on the light so we don't have to live in darkness. Sometimes we think that by having more money, or by being with the right person, or by having the right job or position in life, that we can have our own light. But the flames of those things can go out and worse, they can burn us if things go awry. Only Jesus, the true Light, never goes out and He does not burn us. Everytime we try to create our own light, we put God-sized pressure on a man-made issue. God is not obligated to do anything for us. It is us who owes God the honor, the glory, and praise for what He has done, is doing now, and will do.
I'm so thankful for my wife Kaneika Grant Alston! She is a total God-send. It's been a great six months so far and I feel like I've learned so much from her and about her as we have been moving along in our journey. We laugh a lot, have fun, make sure we find effective ways to communicate, serve each other, and hold each other accountable in love. We want the best for each other and we push each other towards good works to please Christ, for it is He Who is at the center. I look forward to another set of six months and another set of six months and another, and well... you all get the point lol. Please pray for us that we will continue to remain stedfast and focused on who and what the Lord has called us to be. Thank you! I love you babe! 😉😍
From Trayvon Martin to Eric Garner to Michael Brown to many other cases you could only find out about by digging deeper while doing research (www.policebrutality.info) ... when is all of this brutality from the police going to cease?? This is crazy. There is a lot of talk about "right vs. wrong" and I agree with the right vs. wrong idea, but it's also about race many times whether people would like to admit it or not. There has got to be some type of evil agenda certain police units are trying to fulfill. Why else would the police be shooting to kill, instead of shooting to simply stop a suspect. Why are they tasing so many people and slamming people's heads into the ground? Why aren't they listening to those in handcuffs when they tell them they cannot breathe?? This has got to stop! Lord help us!
Every single officer in the United States needs to be re-trained on protocols. Clearly, Wilson didn't follow protocol when he dealt with Michael Brown. Clearly officers are not recognizing when enough is enough. And it's time out for all these excuses people make for these officers. Just stop already. Even the United Nations Panel slammed the U.S. Record on police brutality. Once the UN has something to say, you know it's a done deal. We've got to do better.
I just want to encourage and inspire as many people as I can for Jesus Christ.
